Fiberware Imagefilm
Synopsis
An image film for fiberware GmbH (Mittweida), proposed to the client in three concept variants. The lead concept documented in the proposal is "Variante 2 — Der Knaller": a real-film production with VFX elements and the styling motif of "Light Streaks", designed to make fiberware stand out visually from competitors at trade-fair playback.
The film opens on a solar eclipse — darkness with the burning solar corona — and is launched by the first ray of light at the eclipse's end, which races toward and past the viewer. Those rays then become the recurring "Light Streaks" that thread through the entire film. The Light Streaks serve as both the film's visual through-line and a metaphor for the foundation of every energy and information transmission in fibre-optic cabling — fiberware's business.
Through the streaks the audience is guided across fiberware's production sites, manufacturing environments and product world, but always shown rather than explained in detail. Real light-painting performed on location by a dancer (with Dresden's famous Canaletto view as backdrop) is intercut with the digital Light Streak to preserve the haptic feeling of actual visible light, and the resulting clips also serve as artistic separators between sections of the film and as standalone social media assets.
